Interim Pastor

The Rev. Dr. John Y. Todd, III, is a native of Gastonia, NC. He is a graduate of Davidson College (B.A., History) and Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA, where he received his Masters and Doctor of Ministry degrees. He has served installed pastorates in Wilmington, Maxton, Fayetteville and Mint Hill, NC. In addition, he has served congregations as Interim Pastor in Pageland, Florence, Lancaster and Rock Hill, SC, and in Huntersville, Gastonia, and Concord, NC.
He is married to Patricia (Patsy) Martin Todd, a native of West Point, VA. They have two children and one grandson. He enjoys reading, travel, backyard gardening, spectator sports, and spending time with friends.

Director of Music Ministries

Sarah Allred is Director of Music Ministries at Matthews Presbyterian Church since 2009.  With joy, she encourages all ages and abilities to make a joyful noise through singing, ringing, or playing.  Sarah has degrees from West Virginia University in Voice Performance and Music Education.  Sarah is married to her high school sweetheart, Adlai.  Sarah loves to laugh and enjoys hiking with her dogs, Rocket and Betty, working out, and exploring local good eats in the Charlotte area with Adlai!  Be joyful always is Sarah’s approach to life and ministry!

Director of Children and Youth Ministries

 Liz is a native of West Virginia. She holds a BA in Music Performance, a Masters in Divinity and an MA in Organizational Leadership. She recently relocated to the area with her husband, toddler aged daughter and two dogs. She has ten plus years of professional experience in a variety of areas including small group leadership, camp/ youth work, retreat planning and mission work. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Office Administrator

Carolyn has been involved in Church Ministry for many years and enjoys sharing her love of Jesus with others. As Office Administrator, Carolyn's goal is to make sure the lines of communication are open for all members of the congregation and staff and to provide assistance to all who need it.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading and playing with her cat.

Jim has been retired since 2011 after working in the printing industry for over 45 years. He attributes his success to Jesus who showed him His secrets to success- "to serve others". Since 2007, he has been serving at MPC with great joy. He considers it the best job he has ever had and looks forward to meeting all the members of the church. He considers it an honor to serve here at MPC.

Organist

Tom is a native of northeastern North Carolina where he learned traditional worship styles at the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie. He received his Music degree from Campbell University and accompanied the Unveristy Chorale. Since graduating, he has taught music in schools and also worked at Microsoft as the Charlotte HR Site Coordination. He has been involved in church since his teenage years and has served as youth director, choir director and organist for a variety of churches. In his spare time he enjoys reading, cooking (and eating) and loves animals.

Nursery Supervisor

Doris and her husband are originally from New York but moved here to Indian Trail in 2007. Doris nannys during the day and also sells thirty one products. She has been at MPC for the past nine years. She loves meeting all the families and having the opportunity to watch their children. In her spare time she loves doing arts and crafts, crocheting and spending time with her husband.She looks forward to meeting you and your family!

Nursery Assistant

Anne is originally from Columbia, Maryland and moved to Indian Trail in December of 2009. For over 10 years she worked in Special Education and now takes care of her grandaughter. She loves to read, crochet, sew and do crafts. What Anne loves about working at MPC is seeing the children mature and meeting the different families here at the church and also in the ESL program.

Child Development Center Director

Heather has been the MPC Child Development Center Director for over six years but has been a part of the program since her own boys were in the program over 10 years ago. Born in Morgantown, Heather moved to Raleigh when she was young and then relocated to Indian Trail where she lives now with her husband and their two boys. She spends most of her spare time watching her boys play baseball but looks forward to coming to work everyday because of her love for the children and her amazing staff. It is a perfectly rewarding job!
